Default Mike W. From KY had the greatest poly handicapping day ever

TVG seemingly did away with fantasy contests - and went to standard style handicapping contests.

They had a big one today. You had to make eight different $20 WP bets on the card at Del Mar.

Here is how my 8 bets performed.

Race 1: Win ($9.40)

Race 2: Win ($19.40)

Race 3: 5th (8/5 favorite)

Race 4: 6th (28/1 longshot)

Race 5: Win ($17.40)

Race 6: I passed

Race 7: Win ($17.60)

Race 8: Win ($13.20)

Race 9: Win ($9.40)

Race 10: I passed

Ok, so I win 6 out of 8 races ... and all the winners paid between $9.40 and $19.40

Believe it or not ... despite having a truly great run ... I only finished 2nd.

Whoever beat me won 5 out of 8 races .. and had a $34.40 winner. I can't whine about the guy having multiple entries either - because they changed the entering format. Just an insanely good handicapping performance by him ... I pulled one rabbit after another out of my ass and it still wasn't good enough.

Thanks.

That same day, I almost had my top selection in the newspaper sweep the entire card at Presque Isle Downs.

My top pick won every single race going into the last race .. but I was off the board at 6/1 in the last race with my 2nd pick winning.

The winners all paid between $4.60 and $9.40. So... 13 for 16 yesterday at PID and Del Mar .. not bad.

I know, i know ... I'm in love with myself and need to find a mirror fast.

TVG had there 2nd of 3 contests today. It was at Woodbine.

I finished 4th ... because naturally they only pay the top 3 spots. Some 60/1 bomb has to stagger in for 2nd and ruin me in the last race.

With my 8 bets - I had back to back $30 winners .. and a $17.30 winner who won by a pole .. and it wasn't good enough.

Just more proof that I'm not the world's luckiest horse bettor to ever live as so many seem to believe.

If people only knew what I know about you, there would be more that feel you are insanely lucky.

I do give you props though on Volponi and Krispy Kreme.

Can we get a post when he is 1000 out of 1431 sometime in the near future? Or is this selective posting?

They've had only two so far ...

and I'm a combined 9-for-16 (56.3% wins) with the 9 winners paying an avg win mutual of $18.80

Of course I can't keep that kind of pace up for any extended period of time ... if I could I would be a billionaire soon enough.

The format forces you to find prices ... and 16 races is a very tiny sample size. I just wish there were contests where you have to bet 1,600 races instead of 8. That's the only gripe I have.
