Default SAT - CRC Big4, DT@CD, AQU, & Lone Star

Everyone is gearing up for next weekend, but some pretty nice opportunities to make a score on Saturday. The Mark Johnson era officially begins today as he be only the 6th race caller at CD.

Calder Race Course - All Stakes Big 4

R7 - G2 La Prevoyante (Turf)

#4 Criticism - Multiple G3 winner looks to have it her own way on the front. WON

R8 - Emergency Nurse

#6 Annabill - Back to her favorite strip and she's looking for her 1st win in '09. WON
#2 Tiara Di Oro - J/T combo lethal and this grey filly should not have a problem with two turns.
#7 Eclisse (Fr) - She was competitive on the lawn last year and must be considered here.

R9 - G3 Miami Mile (Turf)

#6 Mambo Meister - I really liked all three races this year at GP and looks to get a favorable trip right off the pace.
#1 Vanquisher - Closer will be at the mercy of the pace, but must include on Big 4 ticket.
#2 Rogue Victory - Ditto to #1.
#10 Baron Von Tap - Ships in from TBD and adds blinkers for K. Ziadie. Capable of taking them along way.
#12 Wesley - Big grey adds the hood and the trip back to the lawn might wake up the former G2 winner. WON

Ex Box 6 / 1 2 10 12

R10 - Sumter

#8 Finallymadeit - Makes 7th start of the year, which includes a win in the G3 Skip Away and 2nds in the G1 Donn and G3 GPH. Loves CRS 26 starts and 13 victories.
#6 Dream Maestro - Stalker in good form and if #8 is not on his A game, he's the one. 2nd

Big 4 - 4 / 2 6 7 / 1 2 6 10 12 / 6 8 = $15 for a $.50 play - I'll punch it few times.

Churchill Downs

R10 - G3 Derby Trial

#5 Santana Six - After getting beat by Dunkirk in his debut, he's won back to back one turn races at GP as the favorite. Gets a nice draw here for what should be a stalking trip under Johnny V. Lots to like.
#1 Silver City - Comes back to the scene of his most impressive win (101 BSF) on 11/29/08. Took the Dixieland at OP before just being a pace factor in the G3 Southwest and G2 Rebel. Sprinting is his game.
#8 Kensei - Won comback race earlier this month at OP and eligible to take another step forward. 2nd
#7 Hull - 2 for 2 which includes a Maiden score (97BSF) at the FG and a romp at TP at .05 to the dollar. WON

Tri Key 5 / 1 7 8

Aqueduct

R4 - OC50k/N2X (Turf)

#6 Flying Dismount
#1 Plan
#4 Radical Sabbatical 2nd
#2 Justenuffhumor WON

Win #6 & Ex Box 6 / 1 2 4

R9 - G3 Withers

#7 Just a Coincidence
#6 Everyday Heroes
#1 This ones for Phil 2nd
#5 Mr. Fantasy WON

Tri Key 7 / 1 5 6

Lone Star Park

R6 - Richland Hills 50k

#2 Shining Moment
#6 Kays and Jays WON
#5 Smokin Again

R7 - Grand Prairie Turf Challenge (Turf)

#11 Har D Boy 2nd
#6 Cashinmywranglers
#7 Souther Region WON
#8 Atlantic Slick

R9 - Irving Distaff (Turf)

#11 Pretty Squall
#1 Love to Tell 3rd
#2 Everlasting Beauty
#3 Nice Inheritance

R10 - G3 Texas Mile

#5 Jonesboro WON
#7 Catmantoo
#6 Encaustic
#1 Halo Najib

Good Racing Luck

May be the kiss of death.... but I agree with all your choices in the graded affairs except one.... I think smooth air takes texas... (some folks around here just cant NOT play the horse)

but the rest are great picks....

I'll throw a longshot I love in the mix...

in the san fran mile..... Mr Wolverine 15-1 a game second on the downhill chasing liberian freighter in last the extra 17 (or so) seconds will provide a profitable outcome.... don't especially like the fact it's a predominantly speed track ... but the value and the pace make this pretty enticing...

good luck to all...

It's turn the corner toward summer racing time this weekend. Calder and Hollywood are in full swing and Churchill is back. Just waiting on AP and Belmont to put winter in the rear view mirror.

F%$king Batista, why would anyone put that a$$hole on any of their horses? Not only did he kill Mr. Serious' chances of winning this race he killed Here I Go Again's chances as well.

The order of finish would have been 5-1 if the one had a competent rider.

Without any doubt, I am not sure the 1 would have gotten by, but that a$$hole took both of them out of it. If I owned the 1 I would be furious that he took a second place check out of my pocket. I can't wait for Mr. Serious to get a rider change to anything that resemble competent.

Yes, there is a slight chance the one would have won, though all things considered it is slight, but the 5 was a very likely winner....and the one would almost certainly have been second.

I am not disagreeing with you Andy, I am not pissed that my win bet went down the drain, I took the chance at the price compared to the 5, what I am pissed off about is that I used the right two horses in the pk4 only to have a moron take the two of them out of it and hand it to a vulnerable favorite who should have finished no better than third. That was just a blantent incompetent ride that served no purpose for the people he was riding for. If he just rides like he should at least he would have a small chance of getting the 5.
