Default Tampa Tuesday

Pick 4

Race 7

3 - Islandprospectrbob - Takes the logical step up after a freshening and claim. If he is on, he is an easy single. He turns the sequence into a pick 3, so we'll go wide in the next three and try to catch a bit of a price.

Race 8

2 - Strike It Ritz - Back to two turns and adding Centeno.
8 - Bonnistar - Last at two turns was better. RAJr red hot.
7 - Beat Your Bluff - Wire to wire threat.
6 - Regent Star - Turf to dirt, big drop.

Race 9

6 - Finally Remembered - Needs to takle two turns and grass for the first time. Breeding is there for both.
7 - S S Royal Endeavor - The logical choice. May be overbet.
1 - Silky Saboteur - No world beaters here. Breeding says yes.
3 - Ducktionary - Working super for debut. Bennett/RAJr

Race 10

6 - Windowsoftheworld - Ziadie off the claim. Enough said.
5 - Back Again - Kaelin red hot. Needs a pace to run at.
3 - Wild Brat - Has the looks of a send candidate.
2 - At Attention - Logical drop, has a win at this meet.
1 - Priavate Benj - Improving sort. Right back.

The ticket

3/2,6,7,8/1,3,6,7/1,2,3,5,6

$80

GL

Pick 4
7th
I agree with you Bigs, but the only thing that worries me the 3 is that there might be a few other horses looking to get to the front and it turns into a duel. I have the 3, but am also including the 5 (working well for the return off the layoff) and the 7 (now in the Ness barn and should be another one that might benifit if the race melts down.
8th
2,7,8 (mentioned above)
9th
Im with you on the 6,7 but have also included the 2. 3rd off the layoff, back on the turf and stepping up. Past turf races havent been bad and has shown speed in most of them. I think she's cutting back to a better distance too.
10th
With you with the 1,6 but including the 7 also. Agreed that its a stab, but the horse seems to run well every other race. Also he has hit the board 5 out of 9 times at the distance. Its 2nd off the bench for him and will probably be a big price.

3,5,6 misprint should be 7
2,7,8
2,6,7
1,6,7
3x3x3x3=$81
good luck

I'm at work and can't have the volume up, is/has Grunder said anything about Centeno yet? Poor guy got dumped in the gate before the second race too. Rough day to say the least.

Watching from home and they just cut off after the race. I'll keep you posted if I find anything out. I hope if anyone has any info on it they will post it as well.

I dont think Ive ever seen a CLEAR CUT winner take to the rail like that.

Unreal. Glad I played against. That would have to be one of the toughest beats ever. 4-5 shot no less.

After looking at the replay, as long as Centeno didn't get torn up by the rail, I would think he'd be okay.

It looked like he had to steady once or twice in the top of the stretch, but then he got clear and it looked like he was fine.
I hope he's ok, that looked very bad.

Everytime I single and flame out with that single, I swear I'll never single again at Tampa.

This time, I mean it....

I was watching the races tody and that race situation was almost identical to one I remember at Canterbury, I think it was 1986, the second year the track was open and Mike Smith was on a horse that was clear coming down the stretch in a turf race when the horse attempted to jump the rail in roughly the same area that Centeno went down today. It was the year that he and Sandy Hawley battled down to closing day for the jockey lead with Hawley eding him out 133 wins to 131. No riders or horses, for that matter, of that quality out her in quite a while. Of course, we are lucky to have both Derek Bell and Richard Grunder at the same time
