Dutching?

just curious on this slow race monday. has anyone ever tried or know of anyone banging out a decent profit by win bet dutching? Supposedly if you can pick 75-80% winners amongst your top 3 selections when they fit a certain odds criteria it would work.However I have never heard of anyone who tried this to succeed long term

The Sartin boys used to make profits dutching, but I really don't know if it's possible in today's game.

In a nutshell betting more than one horse in a race whereby you still make a profit if either of the 2 or more win. Usually different sizes of bets on each keeping strictly ROI in mind.

I've spent a fair amount of time with it, and I made a dutching calculator in excel that lets you dutch different types of wagers (like win wagers with exotics).

Most of the time when you dutch, you are hurting yourself. There is usually 1 best wager to do, and you should go with the best wager only for your long-term bankroll goal.

When you have 2(or more) equally good plays in the same race and are more interested in cash in hand at the track or OTB, dutching occasionally has it's place.

For example say you have (a dream race) with two 4-1 shots and they both have about a 30% chance of winning.
If you bet one of them to win, the return for $2 is $10 and at 30% the value is 1.5 (50cents on the dollar profit longterm)
If you dutch them the return for $2 is $5, but the hit% is now 60% and the value remains 1.5

I don't use it very often. the last time I dutched a serious bet was the FOY with TOFP and JoJo losing $100 on each of them to win. I didn't bother trying to get it exact , I could have done 105 and 95 if i carefully watched odds (another difficult thing about dutching)...

With the incoming money showing up late
on the board I dont see how this is really
workable anymore.

Ok here u guys go. ask if u have any questions... hope someone finds it fun to play around with.

these are 3 fairly small excel files. They are actually all the same , but I put different example starter data in them to show how to use it.

This first one is just your basic Win dutching. Notice that Dutching Dunkirk and Quality Road would have been profitable. You can dutch a bunch of horses , i used 2 for the example.

This one uses a "code". Since if you hit the exactas here you would also hit the corresponding win bet as well. There is room for up to 3 codes and the codes are "1","2", or "3" that correspond with the win dutching box near the top

This last one is mixing win dutching with exotic dutching. Enter the $2 payout for the exotic. You don't use a code when hitting the exotic doesn't mean you also hit the win horse. Use any kind of exotic.
