Default Derby draw TV dropped..

No Derby Draw on TV? Good... Since the pre-draw and draw was a made-for-TV event, return things to a normal draw where the pill is your post position and that's that.

Prediction: CD finds a new sponsor for this next year who wants the draw to remain a big production.

The draw had some interesting moments but by in large it was boring.

Thank God! One of the more perverse horse racing moments of the year. Trainers on TV is as bad as it gets with the whole set up of the show!

i had hrtv on all day...waiting for the fla derby, just a few minutes to post, and wondering why no talk of the race. then it dawned on me, one of the networks must have it. so, turned on bailey, moss, et al. came to the conclusion after the fifteen painful minutes that i much prefer hrtv or tvg.

glad the draw was dropped, it was ridiculous anyway-especially the cardboard silks cutouts and the trainers having to walk up there and hang them up.

Especially when they were being timed...."They have 60 seconds to make a decision and they will loose their order if the are late" ohhhhhhh! The suspense! Really, it was painful to watch.

The tv product is awful, but it is actually really fun to be on 4th Street when they are doing it. In '06 O.A.R. gave a free concert afterwards.

Was that the year that the cardboard silks were flying all over the place because of the wind? I wasn't a fan of the Derby draw.

If they wanted to spice it up they could have used Chris Lincoln to foul it up again.

I don't remember that, but there was a free concert, good drinks and tons of people were talking horses, that's a good time to me.
