![]() Listening to ATR now (Wed afternoon) about the state of racing (and breeding) in KY. As an aside, today I got to meet Dr. Mats Troedsson, the recently appointed head of the University of Kentucky Dept of Veterinary Science and the Maxwell Gluck Equine Research Center.
Some of the talk was astonishment at how this is Kentucky - and we are NOT necessarily "state of the art" or the leader for all things equine from the veterinary or scientific or research points of view. Let alone from the aspect of horse racing! But under Dr. Troedsson, the future will be bright in KY from the scientific aspect, if he gets his way. But I was shaking my head that the breadth of theTB industry in KY - in so many different areas! - have so long gone their separate and independent ways, that KY finds itself embarassed, and playing major catchup regarding their bonafides within the horse industry.
