Free Country could make the Field option look very good in the Future Wager.

very nice card! 12 races with full fields in almost every race. 9 of the 12 races have full fields 140 horses entered.

Other than the stench left by some Derby "contenders" the clearest thing that can be garnered from Saturday's races at Tampa is that Richard Grunder is one of the most horrendous racecallers in the game. Not only did he miss the horse who was in 2nd coming off the turn in the Sam Davis but in the Endeavour he called Ballymore Lady and Cozzi Capital 1-2 while the same two who had been on the front end were still there.

I know the locals love the guy but he's an absolute tragedy. At the least someone needs to get him a pronunciation guide.

he had cliffys future in the running mid-stretch, and i don't think the horse was ever that close.

It's interesting how Tampa horses took the top three spots... it's a horse-for-course type track, and the Beyer came back big. I think before writing these off as complete pretenders, some credit goes towards a few of these being lightly raced and still developing. Do they win the Derby? Probably not... but I don't think they're complete duds by any stretch.
