Speaking of hurricanes, has anyone heard from Franny since Gustav?

Ike scares me some.. but I think he'll be smaller by the time (or IF) he hits north central Florida.

Where I used to live, in a condo right on Ft Lauderdale beach, they will get slammed! This is probably the first time I've been excited to be in Ocala and not Ft Lauderdale!

****IN A on the lock and load.

I think it'll hit NO instead of Pensacola. Hell it could fade to a tropical storm if it sits on Cuba for two days.

Good luck.

Right now, it looks to be headed for the exact same spot that Gustav hit. The "saving grace" for me is that there is a low front that is going to keep it from hitting the Texas coast.. At least thats what one weather guy said.. We'll see.. Had people complaining on the news that they don't have any $$ anymore to pay bills with or evacuate again because they used it to evacuate with Gustav... They were basically wanting the government to give them some $$ to re-imburse them for what they spent to leave...

I know in the "immediate" future here, I just ready for all these frickin' love bugs to die Goodness!!!! aacckkkk

Was pretty bad here...lots of tree damage, some roofs, power lines down everywhere, not as bad as Katrina but apparently worse as Entergy was very surprised at the path Gustav took and took out all the transmission lines.....gotta love the the forethought of the people who run the main thing we need....POWER...they became the FEMA of Katrina...ask them a question and they don't have an answer....pathetic!!!

OH and FEMA sucks again..since NOLA didn't flood they left and landfall in Houma can't get the FEMA supplies promised. I think Jindals gonna hit someone soon.

I am in the mandatory evacution zone. The track keeps on getting closer and closer to where i am at and my work wont let me go yet. I still have to be at work in about 2 1/2 hours. If it stays on the current track I am staying and will have to deal with about 10 hours of CAT I winds. Here is another excellent hurricane website, thisw one shows all the models, http://tropics.hamweather.com//. Any advice on how to deal with the work situation.

Tell them you are going out for some fresh air - and bolt.

When you comeback in a few day they will be glad that you are alive and will have forgotten you skipped out early.

Bolt as in a Charger? At least I have some Bacardi and Canadian Windsor.
