Bernardini,

Is Sharp Humor in this race? Highly unlikely.

I thought Sharp Humor just resumed training within the last couple of weeks. I do like that horse a lot.

Yeah, he is not in this race. It is Bernardini and a couple of ok horses unless one of Wards two run in it. The Jim Dandy has lost all of its appeal with the Haskell only a week later. Why run for $500K in a grade 2 when you can wait a week and run for $1M in a grade 1? There is still three weeks rest before the Travers anyway.

Sharp Humor hasnt recorded a workout yet and is only jogging after surgery. I'm going to predict that Bernardini smokes these, Albertrani lists the Travers as his next goal, and Secretariat starts a new thread annointing Bernardini as his 6th potential HOY ... just kiddin man. Bernardini should smoke anyone that shows up though - Minister's Bid, Dr. Pleasure from the Ward barn - and who knows who else? Corinthian perhaps?

Ministers Bid or Strong Contender could give him a little problem at 9F. Both seem to be getting better with time.

Sunriver is also coming, but I don't see him beating Bernardini. The Bernardini - Strong Contender matchup in the Travers is likely to be the best 3yr old race of the summer unless Ministers Bid and Bright One turn out to be superstars.

I don't think MB or Strong Contender are anywhere as good as Bernardini, at 9 furlongs or 1 1/4. The only thing that makes me nervous is weather (I have no idea how the colt will handle an off track, especially on the Spa's tricky surface).

Corinthian is recovering from a skin disease and he's had two very good works recently; I expect to see him in an allowance race shortly.

I honestly don't see Strong Contender as being any match for Bernardini, but watch - Bernardini will probably lose by 20 lengths. I am normally not superstitious, but when it comes to racing....I've got my fingers crossed, my lucky rabbits foot, etc.... I know I'm jinxing Bernardini by my confidence in him...lol

Ward said his two Jim Dandy hopefuls – Minister's Bid and Dr. Pleasure -- are doing super and are ready for big efforts Saturday. Prado, as usual, will be aboard Minister's Bid, while Garrett Gomez gets the mount on Dr. Pleasure

Sunriver is also headed here, 3rd in the belmont.

I don't think they are either. In my opinion Bright One is the only 3yr old that could beat him and by the time he gets up to speed Bernardini will already be racing the older horses. Bright One still might sneak into the Travers though.
