| beat the drums, sound the gong, Big Brown is here As I think BTW mentioned (probably more than once), there sure is a lot of hype in the media about this horse. Bill Finley goes out of his way to portray BB as some sort of happenstance messiah: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/hor...ill&id=3282031 Seems to me there's a little journalistic liberty being taken here, like in this excerpt: "Leading up to the March 5 race, Dutrow was only able to give the colt a pair of short, easy works. For that reason, he wasn't expecting a big effort." Here's the posted works: 03/01/2008-PALM MEADOWS TRAINING CENTER-Five Furlongs-Dirt Fast-1.00:50 Handily 02/24/2008-PALM MEADOWS TRAINING CENTER-Four Furlongs-Dirt Fast-48:00 Handily These are short, easy works? I think Randy Moss's take on BB is more realistic: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/hor...ndy&id=3282004 I guess we won't know until the Florida Derby just how good BB really is. But even if BB holds it together until then, what are the odds such a seemingly fragile animal (even by thoroughbred standards) will stay fit until the Derby? Even a minor set back is going to knock this one off his training, since he's already playing catch up. I can't get real excited about this band wagon. I'm sure they'll be another one along any minute.

| Thanks for that. Once again Randy Moss shows why he shines above all the rest. |

| He is the best TV commentator racing has ever had. It's shocking that someone that good has gotten into such a prominent position in this twisted industry. |

| his father was a mudder his mother was a mudder Boundary is an excellent sire when it comes to mudders. The track may not be muddy for his next start and he might not like running on a fast dry track. and.. I think Dutrow is al out of horse by the time he gets to the big dance. ie Sis City

| I can't fault Finley for that article. You have to remember that ESPN caters to the lowest common denominator. How else can you explain Stuart Scott? |

| this jewel from finley is what caught my attention in the above linked article: ' He'll run next in the March 29 Florida Derby, where, you have to think, he has a big chance.' you have to think? that's not my first thought when i think about big brown going to the fla derby. it's not even in my thought process at all with this horse.
