Default 2/2: Magna 5; GP (C/O); SA (P4)

Outrageous slate of action from Coast-to-Coast Saturday with Soph Stakes, Magna 5 action and Stakes glut at Arcadia.. Gulfstream carryover try was feast or famine Friday with three races diagnosed well and three complete swings n' misses. Pot swells to near $100,000 at Hallandale with strong sextet..

ALL SELECTIONS PRE-SCRATCHES/CHANGES...

MAGNA 5

Exotics Add: #2 Regal Solo 4-1 5th

Leg B -- GG 4th (4:50pm): OC/N1X, 4+, 1m

Leg C -- SA 5th (5:03pm): 70th Bob Lewis (Gr. II), 3yo, 8.5f (P3, DD)

1. Indian Sun (Solis/Hendricks) 5-2: Brother Derek connections seasoned and steady Injun Chuck bay figures to save all the ground for late run, but has been outclassed thrice facing The Leopard, Into Mischief, Colonel John and El Gate Malo; Is cashing checks along the way, and son of Alleged mare may still have upside long term..

2. Crown of Thorns (Espinoza/Mandella) 2-1: Mandella charge cost B. Wayne Hughes $300k at OBS last spring, and looked worth it in 2nd career start, a 7L romp New Year's Day; Repent bay tries 2 turns, and has been drilled appropriately for stretchout with pair of slow 7f efforts; Looks 'bona fide' from masterful outfit..

3. Coast Guard (Bejarano/Hofmans) 7-2: $300k dark bay from Amerman-Hoffman ran into nice juvies Kanan Dume and Talk of a Cat last year before acing maiden test in route debut in final '07 start; Has flashed hotfoot in sharp a.m. blowouts 1/20 & 1/26 and gets goggles for soph bow which telegraphs Stormy Atlantic son's front end intent here; Could take some catching..

4. Reflect Times (Smith/Shirreffs) 3-1: Tojo rednut perfect in 2 tries for Shirreffs and keeps getting flattered having bested impressive 'next out' Gayego in 12/28 ALW and Chop House George (good group MDN score Thursday) in career debut at Del Mar 9/1/07; Late-running style a possible negative in this small field with pace scenario up in the air, but recent speed tripping at sunrise says top barn may be gearing up handsomely bred Derby-intended colt who should adore second turn; If not today in black type bow, then soon..

5. Meal Penalty (Gomez/Pletcher) 5-1: Pletcher plodder started career like potential good horse, but has gone backwards since getting head handed to him in stakes company with increasing regularity; Needs form reversal or softer company..

Like your picks in the Donn Steve. I think I'll put Spring at last over a couple of these as the possible upsetter, if there is a pace meltdown. He's got the recency edge over most of these and gets a better post. Like Brass Hat too, but the scenario is not the same as when he won it before. Now watch him kick my butt!!

Whip.. Kills my P6.. Thanks. Did see where the Sheppard horse shied at the 8th pole...

Stewards sit on their hands non-stop but jump in there? Amazing. Wasn't even an objection filed.

I have no idea if it was the right call. Wait until the masses come and argue it, I am just not sure you can definitively tell that he hit him with the whip
