![]() For sheet figure fans... KNS received a 14.25 Thoro-Graph fig with a "taken up" notation for her effort Friday at Tampa. It represents a slight improvement from the 15.0 she earned in her KEE start previously.

![]() That is very good, should have more room in improve. She didn't get any help figure wise (as Charles mentioned in a prior thread) being 1w1w the whole time, but I would rather be that then 3w4w and get a TG 9.

![]() Considering that Charles has only had her for a couple of months, I see only blue sky and dark bay horses in the winners' circle
![]() I have to admit, I love that Dee Tee has a turf horse - it's my favorite racing, watching them jockey for position throughout while they set up for their horses run, then the turn for home explodes in a wall of horses across the track, the colors of the silks, the excitement, seeing who will emerge with that awesome speed closing kick. I love the green of the grass, the way the grooms turn them out with the quartering and banged tails ... I think I need a "lifetime trip to England and Ireland" plan ![]()

![]() One issue I have with the sheets or TG at smaller tracks like Tampa is that I question the that the information gathered is as precise as with the bigger tracks or that as much time is put into figuring the numbers. There is also the matter of determining the effect of trouble on the final figure. Was it a point? or 3? Not that any of it matters really...

![]() My recollection is that points are not subtracted (lower the number the better) on Thorograph when a horse is taken up or encounters trouble. Thus the number that KnS received in Tampa does not reflect the trouble that she encountered. In that sense, it is somewhat of a hidden number.....

![]() I don't fully trust any figures.
I usually use them as a tiebreaker or a quick way to eliminate horses that can't contend. Beyers at Tampa are okay, the tougher task is to compare figs (any figs) for horses shipping in from other tracks and somehow coming up with the best horse. That is part of why you can usually see some big prices at the beginning of a meet. Once horses have run over a track a couple times, it becomes easier to identify contenders and the prices seem to settle down. |

![]() agree 100%.
you can sometimes get a feel for which tracks might have numbers that are 'off' (good and bad) by noticing how well the invaders are doing. as long as they appear consistent they are useful. |
