Is Smokin Joe gonna move back to FG for the winter and and try to pick up a nice 3 yr old for the T C and spend some time at home ? Bigger purses and more money in So Cal but will he be lured home?

i believe he is home now spending time with family. being so young and away
from home. i say you will see him there starting next week. if there family is like most families down there they are very close.

ah my best and fav wagering meet of the year has returned=)!!!!!!!! 3 chicago jocks whove moved their tack including jesse campbell apparently for good are there in mena, JC, and laviolette lol scavs fav. it apparently has been a good move for shane to return to his native bayou as hes had a good meet@delta but i only really expect much from mena and campbell outta the 3 in N.O. should get more interesting once albarado comes from KY. oh and the classless/overrated eddie martin is there to gun every horse from the gate and make it 5 across the backside on the front end

Pretty reliable word around here is that Joe will be staying in California, he will be missed, and hopefully return for some of the big stakes days.

This weekend he is supposed to ride Artiste Royale in Japan, then return to Hollywood to ride Unusual Suspect. Haven't checked yet if that is still the plan.
What a thrill 17 years old and riding in Japan and Breeders Cup. I'm glad I was there to see him win that first with Clouds on a Walk last year, started my day off right.

Looks like a really good Jockey colony again this year, Theriot rides either Sat. or Sun. and Robbie is scheduled to be in next week. Love Jesse Campbells rides here and some new ones coming, hoping Emma Jayne will come back too after Hong Kong.


There won't be much love for Eddie Martin in the paddock this year after last years unfortunate comments about NOLA. Understandable it was hard to return to NOLA after Katrina but he just went overboard.
All that much more love for the jocks who came last year.
Martin may find cups being thrown at him by the locals.....at least that was the plan by some last year....

Really looking forward to opening day tomorrow...we'll be there when the doors open.
Hope "ya'll" have a nice Thanksgiving, I know we will. Off to cap the card....

after the sh1t E.M. pulled this fall in OK he deserves alot more than cups thrown at him. apparently hes had problems all over the country thus the reason why the overrated fucer has bounced around so much the last several years

If I read it right the other day, Shawn Bridgemohan will be Assmussen's main rider @ FG this year.

Also remember reading that Bill Mott and Bobby Frankel have horses in New Orleans, also.
