Default Cubs Game 1 and 2 Starting Times

I hope your kids aren't Cubs fans, especially if you live in the East Coast, as the starting times for Games 1 and 2 will be 9PM Central. It's safe to assume that TBS will be cranking out the commercials and these games will be finishing well after midnite. Way to market your sport...

and the ones who don't have cable either as TBS isn't allowing WGN to broadcast the game locally, as ESPN used to. Of course, not sure who doesn't have cable anymore

Maybe Baseball is taking the lead of NHL..and put the games on some station noone knowes, and make fans channel surf just to find a game...and then wonder WHY the ratings are down !

I know I'm showing my age here(43) but remember running home from school to watch the playoffs in the afternoon. Taking a AM radio with an ear piece to listen on the way home. I would love to watch an afternoon game with my son (7) when I got home from work but I don't even tell him the games are on because its to late for him to watch. This is one of the reasons there are fewer and fewer baseball fans every year. I understand its all about the advertising dollar but an afternoon World Series game you watched with the family would be helpful in keeping the next generation interested in the former national pastime.

Default I love cryin' Cubby fans...

Real kick in the teeth -- the evil TBS has coverage of Cubs instead of beloved WGN...

And Harry Caray's son and grandson both work for TBS -- is Harry turning over in his grave?

GO D'BACKS!

I'd like to correct you here. Zambrano wasn't even close to finished. He had only thrown 85 pitches. His manager got ahead of himself here and took him out so that he could save him for game four on Sunday. That's right, game four. A game that may not even be played. This decision was beyond stupid to me. I could see if the Cubs had a lead but they didn't. I used to want to have faith that some of the old timers would have a little more respect for the game and not give in to the weenie tendencies of today's game. So much for that. Pinella played 2007 baseball, the version where pitchers are treated like lil girls with skirts on, and he lost.

I thought you played playoff baseball all out to win each game? I can understand pulling him if it was the stretch drive of the reg season, but not in Game 1. Even worse is it's only a 5 game series. Maybe, maybe you pull him in a 7 game series to try and get him back 3 times, but what if there is no Game 4?
Now...he was truly dealing last night so I wasn't crying when he got yanked, but that will be second guessed a lot

He lost because his first five batters in the lineup went 1 for 20 with 1 BB. If the Cubs dont hit, it wont matter who is pitching.

They are garbage. I don't even want to go on Saturday now. Lets throw 2-2 fastballs at the letters to a guy that has 32 HR's and then after we didn't learn that lesson, lets throw a hanger to a guy that can't hit a fastball over 88. Garbage, absolute garbage

Scavs,I think (going in ) it was pretty obvious that they couldn't beat the D' BACKS unless Soriano carried them.I really think you didn't have a chance if he didn't stay hot.The only team that is getting away with buying success is the REDSOX. The other 3 (that are playing well) aren't bought(were grown.)
