Default Spyders Travers Day Pick of the Day

Don't put up picks often but really like a horse in the first.

#1 - Got the last laugh: Check out the replay of his last race. Was bumped and strangled at the rail in the stretch and had to stop and redirect his effort ending up only 3 lengths back. Would have won for fun if he had a clear trip. Third off a layoff, Mott/Desorm como.

Oh yea...he's only beat Street Sense and Sightseeing in his career.

12/1 morning line...are you kidding me???????????

Enjoy!

Default Plays for Saturday - Travers Day

Here are my spot plays for Saturday. Agree with a lot of what has already been said as a lot of us are obviously using the sheets and although we of course interpret them differently it does lead to a lot of the same plays.

Saratoga

Race 2 #3 Mythical Pegasus. 6-1 Win Place. Last two races can win this one and he looks like he can move forward. WON $9.70 $4.40

Race 3: #9 Virginia Minstrel. 7-2. Win-Place. Again, his last two can win this one and love Tagg on the lawn at Saratoga. 2ND $3.00 PL

Race 6: #2 Hedge Fund 5-1. Win-Place. Looks like he is cycling back to his top. Also Play Daily Doubles for races 6-7. Smaller double wagers with #8 Salzburg 5-1. OUT

Race 7: #6 Cosmonaut 3-1. Simply faster than these. Prado up for the Frenchmen. Play in doubles in race 6 with 2 and 8. Also save doubles with #1 Shakis.

Race 9: #4 Street Sense odds on. Play in doubles with

Race 10: #6 Allude 6-1. Square price on pair up.
#8 La Traviata 5-2. Expect a bounce but if not.....

Monmouth:
Race 4 #9 Cobra Strike. 4-1. Win. First time out for this $100,000 2 year old purchase working out good. Exacta box with #3 Bold Trust 5-2. WON $6.80 EXACTA $14.40

Race 8 #3 In Return 7-2. Consistent turfer. WIn Place wager.

Del Mar:

Race 7 #8 Premium Quality 8-1. Sahadi first timer was a $385,000 purchase at Keeneland April and works are quite good. Price play. Exacta Box with #10 Baffert's colt a $350,000 Barrets purchase whose first race was buried.

play Daily Doubles 8,10 with

Race 8: #2 Special Heather 9-2 and #4 Bai and Bai 2-1.

Race 10: #12 Look Deep. 7-2. Win and Place. His last two races should be good enough to win this one.

Good Luck to All.

Bad early movement on the 1. The stupid track handicapper picked him to win as well, so now a bunch of stupid money will be on him.

Spyder - Are you the one that put so much $$$ on #1 that he's down to 9/5 right now?

I watched some of this horses races, especially the last, and when he tires, he does not pay attention imo. Very erratic horse. Cuts the turns very nicely, but down the stretch is just not good. Those blinkers dont need to be cut in any way.

DCat,

Have not even bet yet. Very obvious horse IMO and when my $20 goes in watch the odds dive.

Huge congrats from me.
I would never have picked that horse watching those replays.
You need to teach me how to watch them.
I thought that horse would blow up in the stretch.

Very nice indeed. Way to go!

Thanks,

Just thought any horse that could beat both Street Sense and Sightseeing had alot of upside. I mean he didn't catch each of those on their bad days. Bet him last race and he got clobbered so bad on the rail and yet pulled out to the 4 path and gained strongly after that to only lose by 3 lengths. The replay doesn't show his move and closing but most horses would have lost lengths after that fiasco.

Will try to keep the mojo going with a 3-9 quenella.
