Before you get too carried away, that was Slam Bammy only two lengths behind, and Who's the Cowboy, beaten badly in the Vosburgh, two more behind. The track record doesn't mean much as good horses not aged 2 very rarely even run the distance at Monmouth.

Very true! Joey P was very good at age 3, Perkins took over last year and he didn't run very well. Yesterday was his 2nd race since undergoing "throat surgery", something that I had heard but forgotten, although I still ended up playing him. I thought that the change from Costa to Perkins would improve him, perhaps this year that will be the case.

Monmouth's times can be disputed.IMO... Joey P. can definitely make some noise if he's still sound come OCT. Would be a great story if he were to maintain his track record there and take on the big dawgs in the BC...

Certainly there are enough hotel rooms in the Charles Town vicinity to hold the crowd that will surely come when the Breeders Cup announces a 4.5f sprint will be held on the Thursday before the Friday before the Saturday of the Breeders Cup. Outcashem will dominate.
