Default kip deville/showing up

does it matter who is better at this point. They both ran huge and anyone would be very lucky to own either. Quincy Hamilton must have been in no rush to talk to Dutrow following the race. Crazy fractions and speed. Looked like a rabbit setting up for entryate closer. Wonder what kind of speed figures they earned

IEAH has a really nice horse, congratulations to them. However, it does matter who is better because Showing Up is a significantly better horse the KD. KD is like Sinister Minister on the turf. SU is very similar to Kittens Joy. SU has the explosive push button talent that is essential on the turf. Speed horses have zero chance on the turf. Give SU credit, he is a superstar on the turf.

From the bloodhorse "Showing Up looks like the next star of American turf racing"

Love this Tagg quote too

I just never thought he looked real comfortable on the dirt even though he was very impressive on it in several of his races," Tagg said of the colt. "One day we jogged him off on the turf and he just looked like he was reborn."

so your saying that Kip Deville has no chance to beat showing up in the VA derby?

Zero chance. I would be shocked if KD even goes in the VA Derby. KD is likely to bounce like a ball. SU is likely to improve even more. The distance also gets longer. I bet Dutrow is looking at the BC Mile with the horse. KD looks like a nice purchase, but he isn't an elite turf horse. Showing Up is.
