Default Russell Baze and Bay Meadows wall clocks?

Quick post. I won't be here long.

Where's Russell Baze? I see he has no mounts at Bay Meadows today.

Also, just noticed today is "free wall clock" day at Bay Meadows.

I have no idea what they look like, but I'll likely drive across the Bay to see, and catch the first few races.

Anyone else going today?

If so, meet you at the paddock!

The ghost of Russell Baze is at Oaklawn to show the fans he can only ride in NoCal.

FWIW, I see Russell didn't ride at Bay Meadows yesterday, either.

He must be taking this Oaklawn trip seriously.

My recollection is Baze normally rides at Bay Meadows or Golden Gate Fields the day before his out of town races.

CURSE YOU RUSSEL BAZE!!

THE DAY I WENT LAST WEEK HE WAS AT SANTA ANITA

THEN I GO YESTERDAY EXPECTING HIM BACK AT BAY MEADOWS....AND I FIND OUT HE'S NOT!!!

Bay Meadows is extremely easy to figure out.....BUT RUSSEL BAZE HAS TO BE THERE!!! @$&*#(*&$#(*&$#(*$&@*#&(@*#&

But BM had a nightcard yesterday so that makes complete sense....still....#&&$#(*&$@*(#&@(*#&&*(#

Anything at BM with Baze on it and is 5/2 is GOLD

Glad I went over for the first three races. First of all, for free, the wall clock is great. And the battery was even included! Bay Meadows emblem discreetly in the middle, and jockey silks with numbers around the dial. Mine is already hanging!

I played some Gulfstream action before Bay Meadows started, and quickly went down three digits. Battled back and got ahead by about $50 and swore to myself I would go home a winner.

Just started playing $20 win and place and caught the first race at Bay Meadows, the first of Joel Rosario's winning mounts in a row.

I had glanced at the 8th at Gulfstream, but wasn't sure I was gonna bet it. I noted that the #11 was a first time starter, and a $150,000 purchase from Keeneland. Got my attention. So was the #6 for that matter. At the last minute I decided to put a wager on the 8th, and further noted Elvis Trujillo was up. He seemed to be doing OK on the day, and then I noted the Unbridled 's Song connection.

Program said 6-1 on the morning line, so without a glance at the odds I played $20 win and place. I went to a big screen as the horses were being loaded and realized I had played a 25-1 shot. And then it was 30-1. And then 35-1 as the gate sprung open. Sheesh.

Anyhow, it was a beautiful race. I'm usually pretty verbal at the track, and I'm not sure how close people pay attention to the other tracks, but I noted I was getting looks when I was hollering for "Elvis" and telling "Elvis" what to do, and then cheering as "Elvis" hit the wire first.

The horse, Pemaquid Light, paid $81.20 on a $2 wager.

(and $15.80 to place)

I think that's the largest win payout on a $2 wager I have ever hit.

$812.00 on a $20 bet. Plus the $158 for the place.

I lost $50 on the Oaks. then bet the Arkansas Derby, and left.

Good day!

Nice job today! I really miss Bay Meadows - Rosario has been amazing, and Moger is on another of his win streaks... sorry we I didn't get in touch with you when I was down there last month, too many frinds and family hogged my time (of course I made them sit with me in a clubhouse box ).

Again, well done today, I'm jealous you have a clock and I don't (J/K )

Thanks, Derby Cat!

And even the food was great today. The hot oven roasted turkey was sliced extra thick, and the Bloody Mary was very good.

The bartender said the announced crowd last night was 8,000, but she thought it was even larger than that.

By the way, a horse to look for next time out is Good Time'n Dixie. Four year old filly who hadn't been on the track since last July. Finished a real and hard fought 2nd in $62,500 Allowance/Claiming 2nd race. She'll be good to know next time out, and is one to watch.

I'm guessing you were on the clubhouse side, Michelle in the Paddock Bar makes the BEST Bloody Mary's! And she gives you a good honest pour, much better than the guy upstairs

I was watching the races from home today and I agree with Good Time'n Dixie, I thought for sure that Schvaneveldt/Sherman horse was going to take it but Rosario made several horses look worse than they really are by beating them today - that guy was amazing, I lost track of how many winners he had today... I'm going to be looking closely at Moger and Rosario horses there tomorrow...

Once again, congrats on your score today!
