Last 4 games last year....

Tavarias Jackson 57 of 89 740 yards 8 touchdowns 1 interception 115.4 quarterback rating...

Brett Favre 75 of 132 764 yards 2 touchdowns 8 interceptions 53.3 quarterback rating.

You'd have a real hard time convicing me that Favre is better than Jackson right now.

Call me crazy, but signing a 40 year old guy coming off bicep surgery with a torn rotator cuff for 25 million seems like not the smartest move in the book. Even when he had the great season two years ago he stunk it up horribly in the NFC championship game and he was not good last year either.
You're in idaho. its not like you actually saw him play last year.

farve blows. some games he looks like superman. but then he has equally poor games. he'll lose as many as he'll win for you. He's as consistent as Riots GOP beliefs.

the vikes obviously feel he's their best bet. and you did see about ticket/merchandise sales since the announcement?

i will not make the argument that favre is one of the best out there anymore, but i would definitely argue he's better by far then what the vikes already had.
Um, I hate to break it to you but the Jets had one of the best O-Lines in football.

Um, i hate to break it to you but generally lines either block run well or block pass well and rarely do they do both well. the truly elite lines like the 91 skins or 95 cowboys for example, are rare exceptions.

The jets line was built to run behind...not protect the passer.

What's my tab with you? $100? I'll bet $80 against that $100 that the Packers win at least as many games as the Vikings this year. If you want we can split it up into two $40 against $50 bets and you can placate your Cutlerboner and have the Bears against the Packers in the second bet.

Aaron Rodgers > Bret Favre > Rex Grossman > Jay Cutler

Yes, and I think the Packers are going to be very good this year. Aaron Rodgers looks really good this preseason and I think he's going to have a great year this year finally having an offseason knowing that he was the man. They had 7 losses by 4 points or less last year which is tied for the second most in NFL history. Most of that was on the defense but expect their defense to be vastly improved this year with Dom Capers. First year with Dom Capers as defensive coordinator:

1992 - Pittsburgh - improved from 22nd to 2nd
1999 - Jacksonsville - improved from 17th to 1st
2006 - Miami - improved from 15th to 5th

If he can improve the Packers from the 22nd defense to the 14th that already turns 4 of those 7 losses into wins and makes them a 10 win team. If he does more than that and the offense improves it could be an 11 or 12 win team.

The Packers will be decent this year, only because their offense is awesome. That alone will keep them in games, but their defense is very questionable. A completely new system without a bunch of rocket scientists, where I expect them to get better later in the season, but it will be too late

A 3-4 defense is dependent on a stud nose tackle. I think BJ Raji can be that guy. Even if Nick Barnett isn't back 100% this year they will still have a good defense, if he comes back strong they could be really good.

Tom...it might be questionable....but they look very good defensively so far. I think there question mark is the running game. It wouldn't surprise me if they take the division. It also wouldn't surprise me if the Vikes fall to 3rd.

IT IS THE PRESEASON.

Personally, I think Packers and Bears fans love the fact that the Vikings got Favre, the Bears have owned him in his late years, and the Packers game will be epic because that defense is going to be so fired up, and Favre, regardless of what he says, wants to beat them BAD!!

So what I wanted to say was that I think Favre will do more harm then good

Bears are getting burned in the secondary. But I'm going to put that in the IT IS THE PRESEASON category, NOT!!!!. Granted what the Packers have played have been creampuffs so far, but so is the potential on the schedule. I'm going to go with Dom Capers history and their personel.

The Capers factor is legit, the defence will be much improved. I think Rogers will have a big year with this division going down to the wire.

Those are sucker bets.

I will bet vikings vs. packers even up. If they end up with the same record, then the bet pushes.

50 dollars.

Deal?

Dream on. You read my posts already and know that you are so wrong with your raging double Favreboner and Cutlerboner. Unlike you the rest of the universe hasn't been privy to my point. And on Sportsbook.com right now they are offering Vikings +140, Bears +180, Packers +200.

Give me 1/2 a game and I'll take the bet.

We will have to find something else to wager on. I'm sure there will be many opportunities.
