It could be worse. Riot could be in the majority and then muslims would be on the honor system.

I think it's that we will not put the money, intelligence and training into it.

Air Israel uses college-educated, multi-lingual, trained professionals that pursue a direct line of questioning and are trained to observe and interpret a subject's responses. That is where they excel. Not on picking out Arabic names. It's where did you get the VISA, why in a secondary country, why a one-way ticket on a temporary VISA, what are you going for, who are you traveling with, why did you pay cash for your ticket, why is your passport new, etc.

We use minimum wage, GED equivalents. No wonder our best answer to a shoe bomber (who looked like any other black American, but stood out like a sore thumb fitting the "classic" traveling terrorist questioning) is "Everyone take off your shoes".

Only in your imaginary world of Muslim hate.

I'll bet you don't get the irony of being you: I mean, aside from your habit of just making up ridiculous false crap about other people as you go (okay, we get that reality or truth doesn't matter to you), watching you hating Muslims, but then seeing you start a thread, your point being you using a foreign-born Muslim as complete and final validation of the US healthcare system <vbg>

As I said, no, I've not seen anyone in the US propose to profile as Air Israel does. Wish we would. Mostly it seems "we" want to profile based upon religion and whatever name a person gives. Because some of us think, "they" are all alike.

In other words, there is profiling against "terrorists" (the El Al approach) and profiling against, "Muslims!" or "Arabs!". I'll take the first approach any day.

Then we agree like Israel we should profile and single out muslim names for extra security/scrutiny?

BTW My point of using the King of Saudi Arabia had nothing to do with the fact he's muslim (other than he may be traveling with one or more wives and a belief that no one shall touch any of them in his presence) and everything to do with the man having limitless resources and the ability to choose any country in the world for treatment. With the muslim sensitivity filter on extra high you are unable to see that.

You are also right... Save a buck at all costs. This is another problem with this country. Greed at the top.

I don't know whether to lob your gratuitious , "ignorant biatch" comment back at you (your tendency to lob flaming bags of dog shiat at people you disagree with doesn't garner you any respect for your debate skills), or just point out that no, you - once again - mischaracterized or misunderstood what I said. Go back and read it again. I added a little something about "profile terrorists" (which I am in favor of, as El Al does) vs "profile Muslims/Arabs" (which would have missed the shoe bomber, thus I am not)

And yes, I know your point about the Saudi king wasn't about him being Muslim. That's the "irony of being you" part <g>

Give everyone who boards a Tazer. People will be on their best behavior. There are probably more good guys on the plane than bad guys. At least the kids on the flight will be more inclined to behave. It's not just Mom who's gonna taze ya if ya don't shut up, that big old lady 2 seats back is gonna let ya have it.

Does Israel have some secret list that contain terrorist Arabic names as opposed to regular Arabic names? If you go back a re-read what I cited Israel profiles based on ethnicity first (arabic names) and then interogation second. We would do well to follow the same and stop patting down 5 yr. old boys.

If every woman showed up in a string bikini and flip flops and every man in a SPEEDO and flip flops, I bed those pat downs would go lickety split.

Just sayin'

Your reading understanding is truely unique. Re-read the rest of that American newspaper article. (probably better for you to to go off and find one of the recent interviews on American TV with ex-El Al security people). Yes, of course they use profiling, but it's much more than only names, or specifically names. You do realize I would guess (as does El Al) that if you profile based only on names, all terrorists have to do is ... use an alias. It's the sophistication of their questioning that is most important.

Yes, Dell, I am all in favor of profiling terrorists. There isn't much point to profiling "Muslims"

Today on some Southwest flight, a flier found a full ammunition clip on the floor.

They investigated, seems it was left behind after a previous flight by some police officer.

What's the emoticon for "shaking one's head in disbelief"? Or maybe, "Gawd help us"

read again and FOCUS....."and extremely high-risk travelers (anyone with an Arabic name). "

OK I should have used ALL who have arabic names as opposed to Muslims. Cause Muhamad Al Kalim the Christian should be included as well. So let's leave the word MUSLIM off the table and instead insert ARABIC. I'm good with that. Barack Obama could be one of those names LOL

Who do you think is going to be targeted by security right now? Some guy out of Saudi, or Yemen?

For what? Other than this particular one for being so stupid, he lost his full ammo clip?

But it's also interesting to note what can be left on an airplane after a flight, and nobody even apparently looks on the floor. You do realize that ammunition can be used to cause blasts, right?

apparantly 5 yr old white boys, nuns and guys who want their junk left alone. In another words by lottery. TSA needs to be privately run and we'd be 100X better tommorow.

Of course I realize I'm trying to explain this to a woman who still supports the USPO. ie. a kitchen table

Nobody mentioned white children and nuns. Are you simply incapable of talking about national security concerns in any context or depth other than, "I hate me some Muslims!"?

yea we tried it as kids. Not a bing bang trust me. But guess that's why hacksaw blades aren't allowed on flights? To keep those terrorists from finding a cop's clip on the floor and making a gun powder bomb in the bathroom. Of course he'll have to have an accomplice smuggle a lighter as well. Let's profile cops!
