It was - I'm not sure if those are BC Classic contenders though.

Tiago showed more speed than I thought he would. I keep picturing him as a closer from the clouds, yet lately he has been more of a stalker close up.

Somehow I doubt it.
Still, I do respect this horse's consistent efforts. Ever since his score in the Santa Anita Derby, he has run a pretty good race almost every time out. Even his seventh place in the Derby was far from terrible. I think he is a solid G2-caliber horse that if he continues to race next year (which I hope he does) might be able to pick up some more G1 victories in races like the BigCap and the other relatively weak SoCal G1s.

i believe he ran in 46 and change........i know the cushion has been lightening but that was a HUGE race from tiago, he has to be considered in jersey.

If you want to take anything from Tiagos performance I would say he was taken out of his game by have to be closer to the front end due to the lack of pace, and yes 46 on that track was probably par for the day.

There is no way he was fully cranked up for that race and will be tighter in a month.

Still seems a touch behind the others but I think he has some room to improve. someone said they would give me 30/1 in that race, I took it.

Good example of a horse being taken out of his comfort zone and still finding a way to get the win. The competition was horribly weak though but he got the job done. I always give extra credit to horses that are able to change up their style and still produce. I cannot stand horses that have to have things go perfect for them in order to win.
