Default If Zenyatta wins the Classic

It sounds like she is headed to the Classic based on what Mr. Haskin said on the radioshow. On paper she does not appear fast enough but she does always find a way to win.

Would she be the horse of the year or would that depend on who she beats? I would think beating a horse like Sea The Stars would carry more weight than horses like Einstein.

Who decides this or is the Breeders Cup Classic winner sort of the horse of the year by default?

Is it true Jess Jackson bought voters with cases of wine last year and that is why Curlin got it over Zenyatta?

Maybe Moss can win it for Zenyatta this year with cases of Fiji water.

Yeah, but all the ones that bet are the ones that you either have on "iggy" (what the f*ck are you, a 12 year old girl?) or are on the top of your annoying poster list. Either way, both groups are made up of bettors that don't give a flying f*ck about your fat charts and horrible opionions.

I hate to disagree with you, Coach Pants. After all, you are the most electrifying poster in all of message boarding.

But I think John "The Fat Man" Campos deserves more respect. He did train Kentucky Derby winner Pleasant Colony.

I think Rachael wrapped up HOY by winning the Woodward. When was the last time any 3 year old filly had a campaign like this, and won every single start to boot? For God sakes, she won the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown by beating the KY Derby winner, then she beat the Belmont winner in the Haskell...2 races where you never see fillies run.

Sure Zenyatta always wins, she always runs against the same crop of nothings out in California. Her consistency is amazing but shes done out of the box to capture true national exposure.

I cant believe this is even a debate anymore!

Well, according to Tool Operator all Z has to do is workout in the morning, since she's the reigning champion.

I said this a few weeks ago and ppl said no way... I think if Z stays undefeated and wins the BCC she will be. Im not saying shes better, but I do beleive this is how it will be voted.

WHatever, I think Rachel is better SURE... Thats not the point... Zenyatta's toughest competition is Icon Project.... She might as well run in the Classic.

If you count the pros and cons of each race, it just makes more sense to go in the Classic. Heaven forbid she ran in the Ladies Classic (*cough*Distaff*cough*) and lost. It's a matter of time before racing luck gets in the way of that undefeated streak and it would deflate things just a bit if it was a loss to her own gender that she shouldn't have had. I'd like to see her at least try something extraordinary given the unimaginative campaign thus far (not their fault it's in California and she had a non-CA rain-out, it's just not as difficult as it could've been). If she gets a chance to unwind against the boys, could be an exciting thing to see whether she wins or not.

Given that she and Mine That Bird would be offering each other a running buddy, I wonder how that's gonna go. I was having trouble with At The Races online, dunno if it was just me, but I'll try to stream the archives to hear what Haskin had to say. Was he on again today or was that the one from Monday? Can't ever have too much, I just wondered which to listen to first. Maybe they've already discussed it, but who shadows who? MTB and Zenyatta, I mean.

The question you have to ask is, if Zenyatta wins the BC Classic and ends up with a 4 for 4 or 5 for 5 record this year, is that accomplishment better than Rachel's 8 for 8 record this year. The HOY should be for your accomplishment the WHOLE year. Personally, I think HOY is Rachel's.

I brought this up last month, Summer Bird is the only horse that could knock off RA for HOY, though admittidely it is remote with voters most likely swooning at her this yr. If he can win the JCGC convincingly, and then win the BC convincingly he may sway some votes away from her, in essence it's not enough that he wins these 2 races but do so in an Arazi like fashion.

Zenyatta has zero chance at HOY with her 09 campaign.

I'm so over Rachel Alexandra vs. Zenyatta threads. Where's the Jonesboro thread? His next start is more interesting to me than debating this same argument yet another time.
