If Hossy had been the one who originally said it I too would be crawling back into the fetal position.

I'd put it all on Quality Road.

is the economy so bad that we think $330 is a life changer?

if someone gave me a free $10,000 bet I might think about show.

but unless you won the contest betting that way, why not handicap the race the same way you did winning the contest?

and you should be telling us how to bet the race doof. not asking.

we didn't win it.

So it's one $300 wager? In other words, it has to be booked all the same time? I ask because people who really wager that kind of money might tend to split it up into let's say 6 $50 wagers, all on the same horse, over like a 10 minute period so that the odds don't drop like a rock on their selection.

With the Florida Derby handle you might not notice a huge difference, but I also would calculate using the pools what the "pari-mutuel" effect of the bet will be, and make my decision based on the anticipated odds after the wager relative to your estimate of the horse's actual chance of winning.

Best of luck and let us know how you do!

$300 will make ZERO difference in the pools. You could bet it 5 hours prior to post and it would not change the odds. This is GULFSTREAM on Fla Derby day, not Penn Nat'l or Mountainqueer.

OK, you don't have to blast off here. I think I said that you might not notice a difference given the size of the pool. In any case you could do a quick calculation and make sure that it won't matter.

Theregoesjojo is the best SHOW bet if you're going to make one, IMO.

Leaning toward either Quality Road or Dunkirk, game time decision.....QR gets the class edge, DUN has a win at the distance. Will be including longshots; Danger to Society & Stately Character underneath in the exotic plays.
