Octave, now that I think of it. She didn't race for a long time, but I don't remember her getting any major injuries

That's a good question and what I found out using the pedigreequery site is that his offspring are no less durable than AP Indy.

http://www.pedigreequery.com/index.p...l%20Horses&cf=

http://www.pedigreequery.com/index.p...l%20Horses&cf=

The links above are sorted by record. Most of the horses near the top are geldings. When sorted by earnings there is very little overall difference bretween the two sires as far as durability.

I believe there are blanket assumptions made about certain sires when the progeny that standout are injured.Especially the sires who had highly publicized injuries themselves.

Well the links I copied and pasted didn't take. To view choose "progeny" under the reports column.

People have been saying this all day but I haven't found a link yet. I just looked on TTimes, Equibase, Bloodhorse, DRF and even ESPN and see no story on any of them. Anyone?

The report comes from a reliable source. I'd be very surprised if it isn't accurate.

Tuesday 6/9 Update (8:25am):

Reports confirm that Dunkirk has a non-displaced condylar fracture in his left hind. Surgery today...

Well, they sure managed to keep it "hush hush" so far. Still not a word in the news, at least none I could see.

Hope it all goes well and that Saturday wasn't the last time we will see him run.

Sorry if this comes off as egocentric, but "At the Races" is a three hour daily radio news magazine about Thoroughbred Racing that airs on North American-wide satellite radio with a listnership of more than 20,000 any given week. The 'word in the news' came on "At the Races", and while my record with stories of this nature isn't 100% perfect, it's pretty darn close. When I have it first, I almost always have it right.

You probably saw the movie after that New Kids on the Block concert you went to back in '86

Is this a replay of the thread that morphed into the whine fest about no racino at Aqueduct and the phony NYC Indians trying for a racino at Belmont ? I'm an upstate resident and breeder with a nice track in upstate wine country (not whine country as in NYC) with a racino so I could care less .

Edit: Actually, Monday's removal of NYCs state senator Malcolm Smith from his state Senate leadership post is good news for that Aqueduct racino in that it most likely removes Smith and his "Casino Reverand" from mucking up the new bids . In fact, the NYRA as well as the proposed racino must answer to upstate NY because it affects all of NY in terms of revenue, etc.
