She does have great jugs though.
That is the difference between Kent and Calvin. Kent says crap like that during his interview. Calvin spits during his interview.

This might seem like a ridiculous question, but has Borel rode in many races at Belmont in the past. I think he's been in town since Tuesday and I think the only mount I saw him on was MTB. Usually an out of town jock, not so familiar to Belmont comes in a day or two early and picks up a few mounts just to get a feel of the track. But it's funny, I just don't remember (not that I have the memory of you guys when it comes to this stuff) Calvin being at Belmont at all.

Obviously I didn't think it was a good ride and I thought that Dunkirk ran a very big race.

You are correct, that was his only ride. I heard some announcer say that he had an earlier mount but took off, I'm not sure if that was correct.

The number of Belmont rides was something like a total of 7 - never a two turn only sprints...

Speed on the rail was golden at Belmont yesterday.

I think Dunkirk's connections very cleverly took advantage of the track condition to get their best possible outcome with a horse who is, I fear, rather one-paced.

Borel's move was 1/4 mile early. He needed to ride at the track last week, instead of going on TV shows. He's generally a humble, hard-working gentleman and I think all this attention went to his head.

He got off Sciacca's horse but that race was on the turf so probably wouldn't have helped. Probably a smart move to get off since that horse dumped the rider and ran off after the race.

I think he meant no one took out in front of him, but to even though the track was fast the raw pace for that distance was pretty quick, and at worst fair.

Maybe Borel was trying to perform the "Belmont Balcony"* move and forgot how to finish it.

*Thanks to BigD and Brooklysain over at startinggate for reminding me of the name.

i thought calvin went a little early for the way his horse runs. meanwhile kent gave his horse the perfect inside out trip and his horse was full of run in the last eighth. i did not have summerbird but some of my friends hit it. one of them said something about an unpublished work where the horse freaked and looked like he did saturday. does anyone know about this?

tigg,

It was indeed a good race for Desormeaux and in fact an absolutely textbook perfect Belmont Stakes ride on that type of horse. But make no mistake... any crap he took last year was 100% deserved, as it always is with him. He is a study in contrasts, equally capable of brilliance and unparalleled stupidity. And he reminds everyone of that on a regular basis.

They may be refering to his wild morning Wednesday where he was supposed to 2 minute lick and then blow out 3/8ths down the lane. All of that was fine, except that Summer Bird did not want to stop after the blow out past the wire and couldn't be pulled up for another 5/16th. He basically worked 6f and made a complete circuit around the full mile and a half in a published 3f effort. And Ice STILL had to gallop him Friday when he was planning to just jog up to the race because Summer Bird was so full of himself.

Ice had him incredibly tuned up. Everyone who saw him in the Paddock rushed to the windows. He was snorting and grunting with head bowed and neck arched. He looked ready to explode.

I did. Just a simple $6 across the board. After having Tim Ice on the show 3 times since the end of April, I would have been sick to not have had anything on him Saturday. I also found a $1 exacta with him and others over Mine That Bird and Dunkirk as I was going through the day's tickets. I had forgotten about it and came very close to throwing it away... I still lost $250 on the day.
