During the Street Sense campaign, not that it necessarily applies the same way here, but Carl Nafzger also was very specific that Borel was his rider of choice for the Juvy/Derby/Travers winner because he was a guy that would communicate to the trainer the nuances he was experiencing on board. Nafzger wanted that so he could make adjustments in the training of the horse.

Don't disagree that they may be Ferraris and Cameros, but few of them have automatic transmissions.

Great Point Steve....It is way to assumptive to figure any jockey can/would win on RA.

Talking Bring Back Chantal Sutherland!!!!

I would have loved to see Calvin stay on Mine That Bird. However, any rider will do as long as they win the Preakness.

PEOPLE, DO WE WANT A TRIPLE CROWN WINNER THIS YEAR????????

How about we give the mount back Chantal Sutherland. She won on Mine That Bird 3 times!!!! She deserves the chance. She knows the horse. Let's go Chantal, Let's go...

I still say, if Chantal was on him in the derby, he would have been 90-1.

Default A first?

Has a jock ever gotten off a Derby winner to ride a different horse in the Preakness?

I can't imagine it happening in the "modern era."

And like it hasn't been answered a couple of times. I know because I answered it one of those times.

Default why???

According to Privman in yesterdays drf, noone knows if Rachel can get into the Preakness field if more than 14 enter even with the supliment. Noone can understand the vague requirements.

so, it'd come down to how the officials read the requirements, right? i'd think they'll get rachel in the race.

This is one bet you can take to the bank. Only a court order could stop them (which, I think, would be unlikely).

I have my doubts that she will even make the field due to the requirements. If 14 that are originally nominated for the field are there then I don't believe she gets in. I am sure that Zayat and some others can find a couple of nags that were originally nominated, pushing her out.

I don't agree with it in any way, but if I had a horse like Pioneer of the Nile I would probably do the same.

I couldnt live with myself if I entered horses to keep a filly out of the race.
