![]() Today's " win " was a confirmation of his mediocrity. Sure, he's a reasonably talented horse, probably would hit the board in a competitive NW3X in NY, but today's race was hardly anything to get excited over. He sat behind a five horse speed duel and beat Preacheratthebar by inches. If he was anything even remotely good he would have won today's race by open lengths. Nothing wrong with getting a perfect trip but he hardly took advantage of it to demonstrate ANY kind of superiority.
Genuinely good horses overcome adversity at least once in their lives. Ya know.....like Mayan King has. |

You came into this thread for one reason. That was to attack a horse that you have routinely attacked.A horse who has made over 2.2 million dollars.Don't expect f'n Roses from me while you do it.Act like a btch, and you'll get told you're acting like a btch. You want to attack a horse? Act like a sarcastic btch? Fine, but take the heat. Last edited by SCUDSBROTHER : 07-23-2006 at 01:33 AM. |

I agree with Somer that no bad horse has ever won the Ky Derby. Giacomo is a very nice horse as he showed yesterday, winning at what was almost certainly not his best distance. I was rooting for him to win for the same reason as most. Namely, he has taken more grief than he deserved. But if his connections want him to be considered something beyond a "very nice horse", they will have to give him the chance to win another Grade I, which is apparently what they are going to do. --Dunbar PS--your potshot at Danzig was particularly childish.

omg scuds. what do you expect?? the horse gets a perfect trip. all out to beat PREACHIN--you act like it's the second coming of man o war. look, you want to cheer on a pretender, go for it. i don't see what the big deal is that this guy finally finds the winners circle after more than a year of trying. you want to insult, go for it. but you might want to consider the fact that maybe YOU are the one out of line, because everyone isn't lining up to get on YOUR bandwagon for a horse with two stakes wins in his entire career so you feel it's just so uncalled for. as for calling ME out, you might want to wonder why it's not just me being less than enthusiastic, yet once again, you only choose me to attack. i don't know what your problem is as far as i'm concerned, i've never understood it. but by all means, have at it. i can take the heat, and have taken it from far better people than you.

![]() i don't attack horses scuds, i just don't get as excited about some as others. you want to view my post about him getting a win every year he's raced as an ATTACK, go for it.
you might want to think back about prior discussion about the worst derby winner ever. i believe i chose gato del sol...altho i did say giacomo was the worst lately. but someone has to be, and he certainly has a bad record compared to others. that's not an attack, it's an observation. and i'm just as entitled to an opinion as you or anyone. but i'll try to remember from now on that your threads about giacomo are only for like-minded individuals.

![]() I was wrong, I never thought this one would win another race...
Chill out Scuds, stop worrying about what people think about Giacomo and worry about why does it seem like the Dodgers and Cardinals play every day and why can't the Dodgers beat them, the Reds need to make up some ground and the Dodgers aren't helping things... |
