His pedigree seems right for 12f, but he literally has nothing else going for him. I suppose he could plod along for a minor share. If a horse like Andromeda's Hero (another FuPeg) could run second here in '05.....I suppose anything is possible.
Or Nolan's Cat?

Damn they are coming out of the wood works for this one

By the way its going could end up being a 9 or 10 horse field and people only really knowing 3 or 4 horses in it

Next we will have horses who ran last in the SA Derby and a horse who just won a maiden race.

All I can say is if Curlin or Hard Spun dont't realize this is 1 1/2 miles we could have a horse that CAN run 1 1/2 miles with a big win(WILDCRAZYGUY???)

In my opinion Matz is being realistic and knows that Chelokee just isn't that fast. . . His figs aren't great and even though he won pretty easily in Baltimore he beat nobody and seemed to be crawling down the stretch. . .

Time Squared is a decent horse. This is a great spot for the animal as far as win/lose value.

This is one of those animals that was a little more expensive because of the NYBred status, but sooo expensive that NY Bred racing really will not pay for him. Maybe he ends up an NY stallion? Probably rather have had a fu-peg like Ravel if given the choice a year or two ago. Why spend more/similar for the NY status and an obvious name that shouts to that status "Time Squared"? They tried this one out west and it just wasn't working, so Biancone took a hold of the situation and back to his comfort zone in Keeneland where he got this one right. He was a viable longshot in the Bluegrass but lost all chance as the (lack of)pace of that race developed. He is a legit contender in the Belmont to finish underneath. Not really brilliant but he can use long strides to come up late if ridden conservatively. I question his strength. He is a risk to falter at the distance. Much depends on how much if any he has improved or gotten stronger since the layoff after the Bluegrass.

Time Square is the NY Bred that PG85 was so high on....he was pretty green the last time that I saw him run...there are lots of lots worse NY Breds out there.

I awoke from a dream this morning, only to realize that Imawildandcrazyguy was the winner of the Belmont. He made a Delightful Kiss-like move to swoop the field. Everyone was hugging me for giving them the winner. Then again, I had pitted cherries before I nodded out, so that could be the reason for such an outlandish sequence of events...Sorry for the topic twist.

Did you read the write up of Guy in The Bloodhorse yesterday? Here's the gist:
"The Belmont Stakes has been on the radar for Imawildandcrazyguy since January as the gelding’s main goal. He finished fourth in the Kentucky Derby, but this is the race Kaplan really wants to win.

What do you think about this, Andy?

According to Thoroughbred Times (online), Time Squared is not going to the Belmont now, due to the entry of Rags to Riches.
