The 1-2-3 factor is very big but also all three horses were first time starters. The tri was in line with the exacta but the exacta was probably less than half of what it " should " have paid.

There are odd payoffs all the time. If it makes people feel better I will find out if any unusual betting patterns existed. I doubt it.

Another reason to stay out of exotics.

Pool size unknown, odds of winning combination thus payout unknown. We have beat this to death. They must have had the exacta payouts before they left the gate though...

completely false, the only ones that are impossible to figure out are pick threes/fours/sixs until the last leg when they show the payoffs. You have FULL access to exacta/quinella/DD will pays...Matter of fact, I know alot of heavy gamblers that look to these pools for advice sometimes, where people are trying to hide funds, especially in the DD's

There's a lot of " completely false " stuff, with more than a sprinkling of paranoia, running rampant in this thread.

Read what I typed Scavs, you have access to exactas, thats what my last sentence was about... What about tris Scavs? Again, MOST exotics do NOT give you access to what your winnings will be. Right or wrong?

Default Maybe

For What Its Worth I Was At Calder Today Where A Guy Said He Was A Friend Of The 3's Trainer. He Said He Liked Him And To Use Him. Now Why He Was 60-1 I Cant Figure Out But For Example The Friend Hit The Quinella And Exacta And Went Nuts When He Saw The Lousy Payoff. In Case You Are Wondering I Cashed Nothing Because He Told Us All This After The Race!! He Is No Friend Of Mine But Maybe This Helps Explain Payoffs. Maybe Many Other Friends Keyed Him In Q's And Pers.

At least you know a horse is 60-1 to win... even if you use that horse in exotics, it is not the same pool so you dont know what you are going to win.

I am educatedly dubious about this post.

OK, at the risk of creating an avalanche of silliness.....

These exotics were smashed by a couple of big bettors who, apparently, had a story on the winner. No chicanery, no betting after the start, just a couple of big players who had some info that, this time, was correct.

As was said before, these were first time starters.

Very good, thanks for the update. It doesn't take much extra action to knock down the price quite a bit on a $393 exacta in a $200,000.

I always figured that was the case. But i still don't like the way they left the rail open the whole way for Chantal.

There's a reasonable chance that the guys who scored out with the winner didn't either. Despite what someone intimated in this thread, the connections of the second finisher did NOT particularly like her chances in that race, and were pleasantly surprised by her performance.
