I just don't get it, I initially wanted to bet Antipathy but was afraid she would become everyone's wiseguy horse. The more I looked at the race, the more I was worried that she could end up dueling with Close Hatches to set it up for Fiftyshadesofhay, considering that Antipathy was bet down to 3-1 and Fiftyshades was 15-1, I had to take a shot at the latter.
But what I could not envision was taking Antipathy back. As you said, by doing that they are just conceding the race. There are certain situations where I understand doing that, but this was not one of them. If they weren't going to use her speed, why run her? The result was predicable and they got just what they asked for by doing what they did.
