A couple of weeks back, we saw a 9f dirt race go in 1:55 and change with predictions that it would be the slowest nine panels of the meet.

Well, today's sixth race crawled to a new worst of meet record :

0:51.08
1:17.53
1:44.04
1:58.16

It was the wind from those ominous storm clouds. There's no way the Beyer comes up lower than Brandini's 55.

Tom Durkin did mention the wind in his call, but that would be nearly three seconds. That final panel of 14+ seconds was a pretty tough close - based on the video, I thought I saw the wind with the horses down the stretch.
