Just saw Hip #69 leave the floor under gavel for $1,000,000. This grey specimen was a perfect actor in the ring and gave a very nice presence. Bidding seemed very fast in increments of $100K until the $800,000 price tag when things slowed - seemed that two bidders remained going to $875,000, then $900,000 and change, and finally settling on the million mark.

Hip #75 brought $600,000 at the gavel - the podium seemed disappointed at the result as there were two "bids" clocked at $625,000 and $650,000 which were taken down from the board.

Glenye's 2nd night Hips..

Hip No. 94—From the next-to-least crop of influential sire Unbridled's Song, this colt is a half brother to two-time grade I winner Weemissfrankie and to graded-placed winner Stop Smiling. Taylor Made Sales agency consigns the colt, whose family also features such standouts as grade I winner Stormy Pick and $301,145-earning stakes winner Why Not Be Perfect.

Hip No. 112—Gainesway agency's Bernardini colt is out of Tweeter, a winning Unbridled's Song mare. The dam is a three-quarters sister to 2004 Belmont (gr. I) and Travers (gr. I) winner Birdstone and a half sister to 2003 Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) winner and 3-year-old filly champion Bird Town. The colt was bred by Saratoga's grande dame, Marylou Whitney.

Hip No. 116—This New York-bred son of Lemon Drop Kid is out of the Catienus mare Unspoken Word, who earned $369,748 and was a grade I-placed stakes winner; she's also a half sister to another grade I-placed runner, Emotional Kitten. This is the family of stakes winners Cannonball and Musical Flair, among others. Sequel Stallions New York consigns.

Hip No. 121—Taylor Made Sales consigns the Medaglia d'Oro filly out of Weekend Whim, by Distorted Humor . The dam is a full sister to grade I-winning millionaire and sire Any Given Saturday and already has produced a stakes-placed winner in Coconut Shrimp. That Giant's Causeway filly is now four. This filly's full brother, Golden Monday, brought $600,000 at the 2012 Keeneland September yearling sale when selling to Japan's J. S. Co.

Hip No. 148—This Speightstown filly is out of the unraced Storm Cat mare Celebrity Cat, but her family is rich in black type. Celebrity Cat is out of the Dynaformer matron Starrer, a two-time grade I winner and millionaire who also is a half sister to three-time grade I winner Stellar Jayne. The Eaton Sales agency is the consignor.

Hip No.150—One of just two War Front yearlings on offer, this filly is out of the Seeking the Gold mare Charming, and her second dam is the excellent racemare and producer Take Charge Lady, dam of last year's champion 3-year-old male Will Take Charge and grade I winner Take Charge Indy . The catalog page looks even better now, as her 2-year-old half sister, the Giant's Causeway filly Take Charge Brandi, finished second in Saratoga's Schuylerville (gr. III) July 18. She's offered by the Eaton Sales agency.

Hip No. 163—A daughter of 2010 champion 2-year-old male and first-crop sire Uncle Mo , this dark bay or brown filly sold to Bare Stables for $190,000 as a Keeneland November weanling last year. She is a half sister to stakes-placed Jasmine's Melody and to recent winner Provenance. The Hill 'n' Dale Sales agency consigns her. She's out of the Unbridled's Song mare Erica's Melody, a half sister to stakes winners Reno Rumble and Beg Borrow N Steal, the latter also a stakes-producer.

Oh definitely. He still got $700,000 immediately after everybody got themselves geared up over the $1.15mil filly.

A bit surprised that the Giant's Causeway-Grace Anatomy filly RNA'd at $295,000. Maybe they figured with her breeding she's worth holding onto if they don't get the right price. We don't exactly know that the people bidding are aware of some physical issue that we're not--Barbara Banke knew Samantha Nicole had sesamoiditis, and they ended up getting a full sister to Rachel Alexandra for $700,000 in 2012. You'd think she go for more but she could've vetted better.

The Kitten's Joy-Lastofthesummerwine chestnut colt looked great and RNA'd at $375,000. I'm curious as to what they were hoping to get. I did really like him. Three outs for Kitten's Joy and the others sold for $300,000, $340,000 and $400,000. $375,000 was right around where you might expect based on his other results. This one really should've gotten his highest sale though just from my eyeballs on the feed, so I guess they felt similarly.
