Will someone - anyone - please explain how the pace dynamics (24.68/49.46/112.74) has Handsome Dennis in last heading into the far turn? Seriously, you select a horse to be in a stalking position and that is translated to last? We all realize that the Spa air tends to change things to an extreme, but I am one step from selecting my horses, tossing them, and playing the remainder with a variety of 10 cent supers.

Overton Square? Shaun Bridgemohan? Seriously?

The only positive is an upcoming reservation at Nove!

You could ask that about every turf route this meet except for the one Thurgood won on Saturday where Vischer Ferry sped off. I used to think the incessant grabbing was only a winter thing here, but it's seeped into Belmont and now Saratoga. I liked Overton Square but he took advantage of yet another ridiculous pace on the turf that gave everyone behind him traffic trouble on the backstretch. I wish Frankie was staying for the whole meet.

So many funny points here - I had Vischer Ferry over the weekend - thinking that I could steal one on the engine. I just wish anyone in the jockey colony would adopt the New Jersey "burn and turn" strategy on the turf.
