He made a pretty good chick flick in "Murphy's Romance" with Sally Field. He also made a pretty good suspense type war movie too. Can't think of the name of it, but he played an American Army Officer that had knowledge of when and where the D Day Invasion was going to occur. Germans tried to trick him into revealing the info.

Think he was in Judgment at Nuremberg, non-speaking part, I think a juror...Great movie btw...don't remember the one you can't remember either.

The name of it was "36" hours and his co-stars were Rod Taylor and Eva Marie Saint. I just looked at something called Ranker. Didn't rank it very high. 15th best movie he was in. Great Escape ranked best. Murphy's Romance 2nd. That's ok. I enjoyed it. What do they know. They even ranked his movies with Doris Day higher.

where did his support your local gunfighter/sheriff movies rank? just watched v/v again the other day. love that movie. was always a fan of robert preston-and of course julie andrews along with garner. just a fun movie!
