blame Joe Torre for that 4 + hour game stuff. Just a ploly to get the sox starters out and bullpen in. Made for horrible baseball for years. Kind of an inside joke in Boston. It was like Mike Boddicker pitching every night. The beer vendors got rich, everyone got drunk.
