Possibly best card ever for Evangeline Downs. Boyd Gaming team seeks to create 'Delta Jackpot' style event for this property.
My three favorite racing days in Louisiana are (1) Risen Star @ FG, usually great fields & no overcrowding, (2) Super Derby @ LaD, race put Downs on map in 1980s, Harrahs team has worked hard to establish good undercard, too, and (3) Jackpot @ DeD, I have only missed one since 2006 (snow kept me away!). Jackpot Day leapt ahead when it moved from December Friday night to November Saturday afternoon affair. Evangeline is 75 minutes from my driveway. So I may venture there Saturday afternoon.
