Default Belmont Stakes and undercard photos

Due to security restrictions I did not have my full compliment of lenses. I used a security approved camera and hope you enjoy the results:

Rev - What were the security concerns that did not permit you from using your full complement of lens' ? I'm assuming that you had photo credentials ?

Or not and new regs for fans bringing a full bag of multiple camera bodies and lens'.

After the Boston Marathon bombing, the folks from the Triple Crown tracks increased security protocols, such as eliminating back packs and such. The camera ban included no cameras with detachable lenses or lenses over 6" long. Although, I did find it interesting that Breeders Cup/Santa Anita posed no such restrictions last year. I usually don't apply for credentials Belmont day because I hang by the rail with regulars (since 1979) and we have a good time.

For those interested I rented a Sony RX-10. For the money it's an outstanding camera. Highly recommended.

Default just wondering

outstanding , as usual. What is your favorite pic you've ever taken ? Best looking hoss you ever shot ? the one hoss you wish you could've shot ?
That pic of Bayern shows just what a great hoss he is, and how well he's put together.

The shots below are four of my favorites. I would have loved to capture Revidere or Waya. I've heard they were two very intelligent horses. Both loved the attention.

Zenyatta before the 2009 Classic

Jones Time Machine before the 1983 Vagrancy

Pine Tree Lane before the 1986 Breeders Cup Sprint

Stretch Drive of 1998 Breeders Cup Classic

I may have both. I lost a number of 80's negatives so I just need to see if I have photos to scan.

thanks again. Apparently Zenyatta had heard of your work and looked you right in the eye.

Back to that Bayern pic. If you take it all in, you can see him smiling at the people who didn't take into account his no chance run in the Preakness. what a photo.
