Ring Weekend will pass on Belmont
Ring Weekend, fifth in the Preakness, will not run in the Belmont Stakes, trainer Graham Motion said Friday. Prior to the Preakness Ring Weekend won the Tampa Bay Derby and was second in the Calder Derby. He was forced to skip the Kentucky Derby after developing a temperature two days following his final workout for the race. "I don't see any need to come back in three weeks and run him a mile and a half," Motion said Friday from Fair Hill. "We got lots of options, grass options, dirt options."
