![]() Does anybody know of the status of twinspires fight with the State of Texas for ADW? Have any Texas players on here found any alternative methods of playing the ponies from home? I am over two hours away from any track here in Texas and this has really tied my hands for being able to play. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

![]() I have a friend in another state that opened up an account that I use. I just send him some money when it needs to be funded.

![]() Some links on the case:http://blogs.courier-journal.com/hor...ng-commission/
http://www.paulickreport.com/news/ra...ing-landscape/ The only other way you can get around it, is to open an account but use an address from another state, such as a Louisiana address. It will work. I really don't see how you would get caught doing that. Do you have any friends in a wagering state that would allow you to use their address? If so, go that route. Other than that, I don't know what else you could do. |

![]() Thanks for the links Arletta. I sure hope they win their appeal. Its become a big pain in the a** for me to play. I am renting a house outside of San Antonio on Derby Weekend just to be able to play. This cost everybody around (DRF and Brisnet) beacuse I am down to buying less than 10 PP a year as opposed to in excess of 70 a year.

![]() I am fortunate to live about 30 minutes from Delta Downs, but don't go as much as I could. I had gotten spoiled to sitting in the comfort of my home and just can't seem to find the time (nor much desire) of driving and dealing with the crowds. I did go a few weeks ago and had a blast, but I would imagine I won't go again until around the Derby. |

![]() I know TVG does, but I don't think Twinspires verifies it, and I honestly think they don't care, as long as they get the money. I don't even think there is a way for the state to see if anyone is doing it. I think it is all on the honor system IMO. But I think if I was going to do it, I would sign up by phone with an out of state area code

![]() I thought years ago when I signed up for Twinspires and Expressbet I had to provide a copy of a valid drivers license and a copy of my social security card.

![]() Thanks for all the replies and PMs. I have some things to consider. It really is a pain in the a**. I had really enjoyed the ease of playing and watching the races from home. Now my wife on the other hand did not seem too torn up about it LOL. Thanks again. This is such a great forum I don't post much but there is a wealth of knowledge on this forum.
Best of Luck to all. Last edited by Bigdaddychance : 03-27-2014 at 01:24 PM. Reason: spelling error |

![]() You could try DerbyWars. They take Texas residents because it is concerted Fantasy sports.

![]() Agree.. That is where I have been going as my "substitute". Not quite the same as placing a bet, but it's better than nothing at all or driving to the track I suppose.

![]() Don't think they bother...back a few years after Youbet started up had a friend that lived near Philly and those people could not sign up..so he used his business address in NJ..Have couple buds in Tex and one drives to Retama and one had Brisbet account...
