The leading stallions in US are Tapit, War Front, and Malibu Moon who in the world could have predicted any of these being as dominant commercially as they currently are. It's an FN crap shoot. BTW for that Distorted Humor to be in a 2 year old sale let alone have been a 350k yearling purchase to me a huge red flag never mind he only sold for 7 figures which is hardily big money for that page. I would be shocked if that colt is a significant horse. When people are RNAing 275k Harlan Holiday's with OK pages you know the top of the market is months away. |

![]() Maybe to you, but Claiborne didn't seem all that sure. He came to market with one GSW and was priced at $15k initially. As sons of Danzig go, Hard Spun had a much more distinguished career on track, is even better looking and well made than War Front, got better mares and wasn't effective. They NEVER know. You may, but the people spending the millions on them as stallions can't be.

I thought that entire crop Hard Spun was in was overrated (though I did like Tiz Wonderful), especially as stallion prospects. There was some talk or belief back then that Turkoman was this fabulous sire of broodmares.... But yeah, I think War Front took everyone except for RHT by surprise. |
