Agree. No huge bias. Race 1 and 7 were won from well of the pace.

Race one winner was never farther than 3.5 lengths back while contesting a 21.68, 44.38 pace. Race 7 was a freak show and possibly the best ride by a jockey this year. They certainly made the track fast as they always do for Game On Dude. Home Cooking just like they tried to get away with Breeders Cup until Owners and Trainers pitched a fit after the first day. One good thing that came out of it is California Chrome will be grossly over bet on Derby day. Also I was just looking at the selections thread. Nice Score there Rock.

I'd be careful about dismissing California Chrome. Yesterday was his 3rd straight big effort.

Track was no doubt speed but much closer to the way its been all meet, they did not do anything yesterday. All the best horses were winning, how is that some kind of bias. If anything it may have been inside more than anything.

If that was his 3rd straight big effort, isnt that more reason to bet against him the SA derby?

I think he's eligible to have a good SA Derby. He did yesterday what Cairo Prince did in the Holy Bull- Smashed a mediocre field. But yeah curious to see how he does vs better

Has Art Sherman already declared that CC will train up to the Kentucky Derby?

I was being sarcastic. There was an inside speed bias. Mike Smith even commented on it after the 7th race. Yes, Sahara Sky did win from off the pace but that just made his win more impressive then it was. Likewise with WTC in the Big Cap.

The fact that the San Felipe and the Big Cap was won wire to wire at a wickedly fast pace and not a single horse closed off that is insane. If you looked at the rest of the horses at the back of the field in both races, they looked like they were the ones going :22.5 and 1:09 in a route race.
