![]() Hey! It was her first start off a layoff.. cut her some slack will ya?

![]() To be fair, it was her first off a 6+ month layoff and to her credit, tried to do something -- attend the pace -- that she'd never done before. It was the winner, who is graded stakes placed and 2nd/layoff, that got the favorable trip (as she plotted to).

![]() She broke a bit slowly, and could have easily sat 3rd on the rail. But that wasn't good enough for Smith, who had to put her 3 wide and near the lead.. He then dropped back to where he would have been to begin with, except 3 wide instead of saving some ground. Came up short in the stretch. I'm not saying she's much, but she would have won that race with a smarter ride.

![]() O.k, so we chalk this race up as an experiment, first race off a layoff and a bad ride by Mike Smith.
The next race she should really be "the one". |

![]() Hope we never have to hear about her again. That was a no-excuse loss to a freaking turf horse.

![]() There was no evidence Macha was solely a turf horse. She never even tried dirt before, and the sire is Majestic Warrior, typically a dirt sire.

![]() Yeah, I'm sure she'll turn out to be a real superstar on dirt. She ran almost 3 lengths slower than $8,000 claimers did in the previous race.

Honestly, I get the hoopla, but it should be clear to anyone who watched the race with an unclouded view/expectation that they saw an unsound, mediocre-at-best, mare at this juncture. If there is any sense of cognition in that barn, that was her last. |

62 days between her first race (MSW) and her second race (N1X) - {excessive, but ok, benefit of the doubt.} 184 days between that race and the G3 try at Saratoga {that's not a freshening} 204 days off out of that race before running 2 seconds slower than 8 claimers the previous race on the card. Honestly, does that appear to you to be a sound horse? Sorry if the truth is ruffling some feathers, but no - not harsh in the least; on either accounts. |

![]() Too much was expected of her based on Zenyatta, it was unrealistic and unfair. It was easy to get excited because she won first out with the bloodlines. But if she was going to be anything great she should of won against this field no excuses, these kind of races tells us about class. She will be a useful horse and hopefully will win some stakes race and if in the right situation with the right field a graded stakes win.

![]() I agree that the winner got the best trip there, but to be fair, Ebblouissante got a pretty favorable trip behind the 5 pressing the 1 and had first run.
