I wouldn't be too certain that Larry isn't going to do some calling at Monmouth too. We'll see.

I like Mark Johnson.
Wanted to show someone a replay of Mine That Bird a couple of weeks ago and I had to look for a few minutes cause I wanted to make sure to use his call. Just a matter of taste, I guess. I wish him well and hope he has something good lined up (and Vic too, while we're on the subject). |

He also was on the mic incessantly. There's no need for an announcer to get on the mic with 3-4 minutes to post and commentate as the field goes to the gate. I know that's quite a bit more popular with international racing, but those few moments here have always been quiet and I like it that way. |

I am not a fan of Larry Collmus race calls. I dont hear anything spectacular from him that should merit him calling races for the Breeders Cup, Triple Crown and Churchill downs. Mark Johnson was far better and sad to hear that he is leaving. Tom Durkin and Trevor Denman are still the top announcers in their field.

The article specifically mentioned he will be keeping his job at Gulfstream but failed to mention Monmouth. It is not a stretch for us to come to that conclusion. I hope you have inside info and he keeps calling for the Monmouth meet that doesn't crossover with Churchill.
