Carmelo Anthony has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played between Jan. 6 to Jan. 12, the NBA announced Monday. Anthony led the New York Knicks to a 3-0 record last week. He ranked second in the conference in scoring (27.0 ppg) and steals (2.33 spg), and third in minutes (39.2 mpg). The highlight of Anthony's week came Thursday, when he connected on 12 of 24 field goal attempts en route to 29 points in a win over the Miami Heat. He added eight rebounds and five assists in the Knicks' 102-92 upset win. |

This is what he does. He will never win anything in this league. He is a selfish scorer. Nothing wrong with that I guess. He is another Barkley or Ewing, well a poor mans Barkley or Ewing. |

![]() He might end up being that, like I said a poor mans. I prefer winners. And if guys I like, example being Harden never win anything Ill say the same thing about him. I dont get that kill a team, selfish vibe from Big Game James though.
He will never win anything though. I dont care if he gets hooked w/ Paul, Love, Rondo. His only hope would be somehow playing w/ Lebron. And Lebron would never EVER PLAY W/ MELO. |

His teams have never missed the playoffs in his entire NBA career. 2 gold medals. Seems like a lot of winning? Harden is a shorter version of Anthony that plays even less defense. Because he was drafted by a team with a great GM and traded to a team with a very good GM doesnt make him a better player or a "winner". It just makes him fortunate. Is Chris Paul not a "winner" because his resume doesnt measure up to Carmello's? |

Chris Paul is more of a leader, but he also has won nothing yet. He's also not a team wrecker. |

What team did Anthony wreck? Can you wreck a team into the playoffs? |

While he is obviously very good, I also think he is somewhat overrated.

The guy was tough, played good D, rebounded OK and was as clutch as they come. Notable clutch shots for this dude range out over 10 years. Started in 95 for Houston in Western Conference finals at San Antonio. Ending in 2005 for the Spurs in game 5 of the finals against Detroit. With a ton of great moments in between. |

![]() Horry and Harden would have been great together.
Big shot Bob and Big game James together would have been special. |

![]() Exactly what big games of note does James Harden have? I remember the one chance he had in the Finals he played poorly. 16-48 from the field in the series against Miami.

Listen I can admit it... Im a Harden fan. We all have guys we like. Clearly Chuck is a Melo fan. Harden is much younger though and in a better situation. If you asked GM's who was more likely to win a Championship Melo or Harden the answer has to be Harden. |
