I don't think anyone has read the rules. No one is ever out of this contest.
If your horse fails on day 1.....

Quote:
Every live race day the entrant can select one horse from one race through the ShowVivor website 10 minutes before the first post. There are 5 different ways to win between December 26 through June 29:

1.Longest Show Streak - Correctly select a horse to finish no worse than third on consecutive live race days. If the entrant's selection does not finish first, second, or third the entrant can start a new streak on the next day. If the entrant fails to make a selection, the streak is still alive, but credit will not be given for that day.
2.Longest Win Streak - Correctly select a horse to win on consecutive live race days. If the entrant's selection does not finish first, a new streak can be started on the next day. If the entrant fails to make a selection, the streak is still alive, but credit will not be given for that day.
3.Most Total Wins - Select the most winners between the dates listed above.
4.Most Total Places - Select the most places between the dates listed above. (Horses that finish second only)
5.Highest Win Payout - The entrant that selects the horse with the highest win payout between the dates listed above.

Guilty

"In the event that the entrant did not make any selections or missed the deadline to make selections, the entrant will not be allowed to make a pick for that day. The entrants "Show Streak" and "Win Streak" is still alive, but will not get credit for that day."

I don't like this format much. If you take it even semi-seriously, then you're committing your attention for 6 months. You could run a 60-day streak of successful show picks, have by far the longest streak, but still feel you need to start a new streak in case someone passes your 60.

Previously there was satisfaction in watching the field quickly narrow down. Going from 6000 entrants to 600 usually took, what, a week? Now there will be 6000 for the duration.

That said, the new format is a smart move by SA. Instead of a handful of people paying attention after the first 2 weeks, they will probably have thousands still playing and paying attention for months.

Longest show streak payoff more than win streak?
Bout 5-6 years ago YB had a whodoyoulike contest site..the longest show steak was the winner period..if you lost a race you started over again..at the end of the contest period the longest streak was the winner...and you could make picks at a number of tracks...in one of the contests i was the leader with 10 straight then my next pick failed...started new streak and got to 9 then the contest ended..winner had 16 straight..

16 is an amazing streak. The current leader stands alone with 11 and counting.

Today's card could be a bloodbath. With over 90 days left there's plenty of time to put a win streak together. I seem to be landing on Talamo in a number of races. The early double with his two mounts looks inviting if it pays anywhere near $36.

Best of luck to you and everyone playing!
