Seriously though, if a length counts more at shorter distances, why not? The crawl fests essentially shorten the races anyway.

Curious why you think that. I had it about a length slower than KJC, a length faster than the Golden Rod. Of course the 10th was a one turn mile, can't really compare the times of the races directly.
