an older, but tried and true treatment. have come across their use in more than one history book. they only eat the bad stuff, so a good way to get rid of anything that can cause infection.
leeches also still used, to promote blood flow. also icky.


and freddy, yes, it does sound sadly familiar. but anything learned is a step forward for future injured horses. i hope st nich makes it, i always hope they all make it. but even if he doesn't, lessons learned could well save others.

so great, and i see the maggot therapy...i always wondered if anyone tried that, and now i know. it sounds so gross, but it works so well when you're dealing with infected tissue.
