Parlay it and look for $4. DC will probably pay 2.40

I really wonder whether anybody truly has a plan for Badge of Silver.

A stallion deal was done before the race, and I believe the announcement was made as well although I could be wrong about that.

I'm just saying, the last year in poor old Badge of Silver's life has been an interesting one. FIrst, he was going to be retired, then he came back and ran one race in like nine months. Then, his comeback race is a turf race in the Breeders Cup, and finally, they run him on the dirt in the Cigar Mile? The poor horse's emotions must truly be all over the place.

And, don't forget, his real trainer Dixie Porter will be sneaking him away from the breeding shed this year to race him.

First horse to make a million on the track AND breeding shed in the same year!

BTW, see ya next year with this one. I think I win this arguement.
While I give Badge of Silver credit for still having something in the tank as a 6YO after a virtual career of injuries, he hardly ran a great race today, and frankly considering the trips it's astonishing he JUST nailed second in the last jump. Silver Train did ALL the work, forcing Discreet Cat from inside during the fastest part of the race, while Badge of Silver laid in wait and merely sucked up. Now, he sucked up in a fast race, and deserves credit for maintaining at least decent form through a lot of adversity, but his performance today was at best third best in what was essentially a three horse field.

This is a usefull horse that can earn over a million dollars in 2007.

Now the battle begins (I WANT to run him).

How exactly is he going to make over a million dollars in 2007?

Honestly, it is more likely that you, me and Bea Arthur do an Ethel Mermon type performance in the pool at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Andy, you know this is funny to me, b/c I just used Bea Arthur as a cautionary tale to this girl I work with. She didn't know who she was. Which just plain shocked me. How could you not know who Bea Arthur is.

Ethel Mermon? Wouldn't Esther Williams be more fitting?

Thank you. It was late, I struggles for the name, got the E and blew it from there.

Thanks for the clarification.

He's going to be seven years old, he has not yet had one season where he has stayed sound, and frankly he is not fast enough to win serious two turn races.

Frankly, it would be optimistic to expect him to run five times in 2007. Making a million dollars is beyond optimistic.

Good luck.

Yes, but other than that there would appear to be no reason he couldn't make a million.
