No matter what, he has to be an underlay, right?

While I've been a big fan of his, I'm going against him here. Its a lot to ask off such a long layoff and injury.

How about Secret Circle? I guess he's easier to toss off for so long, but he ran a time nearly fast enough to win this at Santa Anita as a 2yo, then fires big off the layoff. At the start of his career he broke his maiden first out, then validated with two more improving figures (101-106-110 Timeform). He's close off last, and any improvement makes him as fast as any here.

I love The Fugue... huge fan, she's a terrific horse BUT even though a horse like Grandeur is a bit of a question mark here I can't discount him. It's dangerous to dismiss the other Euros too quickly.
In my heart of hearts I think LIttle Mike repeats and that, no matter how good she is, she is no single. |

If it was anyone but Shug and company, I think the odds might offset some of the obvious negatives. But given that it is Shug and company, I can't help but think he's ultimately an underlay come post time. I'll fade him, maybe a minor use defensively in multi's.
