You're not kidding...try this one on for size...
There are five times the distance of underground pipes for water and sewage than there are roads....and they are all slowly falling apart. Atlanta has a 40 year plan for rehabilitate their system. Sewage back ups and water pipe bursting are common everywhere. Stay tuned...

yep, all our focus is elsewhere. currently, one in nine bridges is deficient.
that's just bridges, there's far more, like you mentioned, to worry about.
